PWHT (Stress Relieving) Furnace
A large variety of Tanks, LPG Bullets, Pressure Vessels, Spheres and welded fabrications structures can be subjected to Post Weld Heat Treatment by utilizing the PWHT Furnace. Temporary furnace can be built around the items to be treated or insulation can be applied directly to the outer surface and the item turned into its own furnace. The temperature uniformity that can be achieved by this method ensures that even the tightest standards and specifications are comfortably satisfied. The method used to heat treatment would be by means of a high velocity burner inserted into the vessels by means of suitable man way Throughout the heating and cooling cycle the expansion and contraction of the vessels must be closely monitored and controlled to avoid any distortion of the structure.
Post Weld Heat Treatment can be carried out as per the approved specified cycle of the various vessels.
Post Weld Heat Treatment ("PWHT") services is defined as one of heat treatments done after welding / machining to improve the Chemical Mechanical Properties of weldment / machined surfaces. It can also reduce the potential of stress induce cracking whereby enhance the strength and life span of the equipment.
In oil or gas fired burner system, burner can be used for furnace, refractory dry-outs and curing applications. It is suitable for post weld heat treatment of large steel vessel and spherical tank on site. The vessel or tank is insulated externally, forming its own furnace and the burner provides a mean of firing into the vessel internally. The system employs a high pressure blower to enable "hot air" to be distributed into the heating chamber at high speed and thus creating a uniform balance of heat distribution throughout the entire chamber.
